The pressures society puts on women is insane. When it comes to raising a female, I have a different approach. I want to give my daughter the option to choose what she wants to be. Everyone is brainwashed, some a little less then others. Free your mind.
excellent! the voice of reason especially in this country and specifically the tri-state where we live.
I hope my daughter grows up and uses her voice. I know she is going to grow up and do her own thing.. but for now I do what I can where I can to guide her.
An excellent perspective on the dichotomy between raising girls and raising boys. I fall in to this trap all the time when I talk about how difficult it is to raise a girl. What I want to say is that it's a difficult world to help her navigate, especially when I haven't done it as her gender. What it sounds like I'm saying is that girls are difficult to deal with. My daughter is amazing, and wonderful and all I ever want for her is to know that in her soul so that no one could ever convince her otherwise. Teaching her to have confidence in who she is, no matter what others say, is the challenge…and it's difficult.
You dont have to worry, “Earlier this year, women became the majority of the workforce for the first time in U.S. history. Most managers are now women too. And for every two men who get a college degree this year, three women will do the same.”

Thanks for taking the time to leave that comment. I am with you on that. Part of the reason I want to get her into learning discipline and how to protect herself early. While I always want to give her choices in what she wants to do. I need her to have a base to build on and be confident.
Good luck with your kid I’m sure you are doing a rocking good job!.
BONUS! lol
