lol, I agree with a lot of this. I don't like the Da Vinci Code bit though, putting forth a fictional story as true in order to sell more copies is fucking ridiculous and perpetuates ignorance.
I was raised catholic and I stopped going to church before all of this bullshit with pedophiles came into play. The main reason I left was because the pope (John Paul II) told African catholics not to use condoms. I understand it's essential to stand by your beliefs, but how about instead of telling an area plagued by STD's that condoms are the devil you just emphasize abstinence. It is really just unbelievable that someone in a position with the potential to do as much good as the pope would do something so hurtful to millions. The pedophile shit sealed the deal. I still believe in the morals I was taught growing up, but i choose to interpret them myself now.
